Inside this 19in L x 12in W gold frame is a handmade sculpture created during my time in Paris. Inspired by my quick trip to Brussels, Belgium, where I toured museums to uncover the history of this small melting pot of a city. My first stop was the Porte de Hal, a 600-year-old remnant from Belgium's medieval era, filled with armory and jewelry. My favorite display was the large gold and silver chains awarded to the townsfolk after they became "King for the Year." The chains are gorgeous, filled with incredible details and adornments, and no two were even remotely alike.
 
I started to think about how I could create my own version of these chains. Still bold and space-taking but lightweight and malleable enough to be worn today, thus this piece was created! The nestled sculpture can be fully removed and worn as ornamentation to adorn your outfit, or stay inside the frame on display to be admired.
